Kraft Azalea Garden—A Winter Park Activity You’ll Love
Winter Park and Maitland Florida have lots of parks. However, one of my personal favorites is a slightly hidden park, nestled into the residential neighborhoods of Winter Park. It’s called Kraft Azalea Garden. If you’re looking for some free Winter Park activities, check out this stunning garden.
Winter Park Activities — Reading in the Park
Sitting in this park, you see a beautiful view of Lake Maitland. Grab one of the benches nestled about and enjoy some peaceful serenity. There is one area of the park with huge old columns. They look very statuesque. It’s usually pretty empty, and I just see a few local residents wandering in and out.
On Sunday afternoons, you’ll bump into a few couples doing engagement photo shoots. It’s a beautiful place to sit and read a book, study, or just bring a friend and a cup of coffee.
Part of what makes Florida landscape beautiful is the giant oak trees covered in hanging moss. When the wind blows off the lake, the moss dances around in the trees. It’s a refreshing and lovely place to hang out—even on a hot day. (And that’s most days.)
This is also a beautiful place to come to do photography for your whole family. The magical evening hours here have amazing light, and you’ll get flattering photographs even with not-so-amazing cameras. While you will see a couple people around the park, it’s actually very quiet for the most part. Recently, a friend of mine had a wedding in Winter Park and we came over here to do all the bridal party shots. They turned out amazing!! The wedding theme was “Great Gatsby” and the columns were perfect for evoking that epic vintage feel of larger than life glamour of times gone by. I highly recommend it! Why not try dressing up vintage and doing an old world photo shoot here?
